Wray Ward is an independent ad agency comprised of over 100 employees with a 40-year history in Charlotte. They found themselves in need of a larger space and chose Thrift Road for their new location – a hybrid of an adaptive reuse and a new build project at one address. The two-story lobby in the new portion features a floating wood and metal stair in front of a glass wall – revealing the auditorium beyond. Perforated metal mesh panels clad the feature walls – highlighting brand signage and Wray Ward’s portfolio. The break and collaborative rooms are located in the existing portion of the building, allowing the character and patina of the original space to show through. Existing textures coupled with generous glazing, clean whites and pops of brand colors throughout the space result in a bright, open workplace with layers of history.
