ATLAS COPCO

ROCK HILL, SC

30,900 SF

Founded in 1873 in Sweden, Atlas Copco is an international corporation that makes some serious equipment for the construction, medical, mining, excavating, and manufacturing industries worldwide. Forced to move from a building that was too small, they chose a re-purposed old brick warehouse building in Rock Hill, SC. The thick brick walls, oversized concrete columns and concrete ceilings/floors were the perfect palette for Redline to work with for such a heavy industrial group. Redline went back to Atlas Copco’s Swedish roots by incorporating pale woods, Scandinavian blues, soft yellows and deep charcoals. Large master-graphics of current & historical photos are used as way-finding. This space combines the raw character of the building with modern lines and full glass office fronts, to point to the future while paying homage to the past.
