CONFIDENTIAL FINANCIAL FIRM

CHARLOTTE, NC

A confidential financial firm sought to relocate from an uptown Charlotte high-rise building to an adaptive reuse building in the Historic South End. As the sole tenant of the building, The client had a goal of transforming the former metal factory (Carolina Foundry) into a high-end corporate office space, while maintaining subtle hints of the building’s unique character. The building itself was a challenge, with a wide variety of architectural conditions, floor levels and ceiling heights. Redline strategically placed private offices, workstations, a client-facing conference center, and many collaborative social areas to best utilize each area of the unique building. While the floors and walls throughout received new “Class A” finishes, the exposed ceilings provide glimpses at the building’s former life. The reception desk is even wrapped in a bronze metal, a nod to the former foundry building. Clean lines and high-end finishes juxtapose the existing raw materials, marrying together the old and the new. And a variety of textures, saturated blues & greens, warm wood tones, and mixed materials come together to achieve the modern but warm aesthetic.
