Spectrum Companies purchased an iconic 5 story office building located in the heart of the Southpark area in Charlotte known as “The Morrison Building”. The Spectrum team came to Redline Design Group with the intent of overhauling the building’s elevator lobbies, corridors, bathrooms and main lobby to help bring it into the 21st century. To achieve this, we set out to create a crisp palette that would feel contemporary, yet approachable. Within the main lobby, rich wood wall paneling was juxtaposed against a more modern palette of porcelain tile and vinyl wallcoverings with pops of color being offered by new abstract artwork. Within the ceiling plane, we replaced a lot of the existing tray ceilings and dated light fixtures with a clean two-tiered drywall ceiling fitted with all new LED lighting that celebrates the building’s new contemporary identity.
